Karla Alexander – Circle Play

Circle Play Workshop –

April 20, 9-4.

The workshop is based on Circle Play — I pride myself on teaching curved piecing to students who have turned away from it in the past. My techniques are different whether you choose to use a ruler or not. It’s awesome to see how much progress students make in this class.

Sewing Circles has never been so much fun! No worries if you’ve never sewn curves before OR if you prefer straight seams, you will leave class a Master of Curves! Come ready to experiment and learn exciting new piecing techniques for basic arcs to full set in circles as well as improvisational techniques. Nothing is set in stone, changes can happen and you will be encouraged to follow your instincts while exploring additional options along the way. *Of course, you are always welcome to follow any of the pre-planned patterns/designs step by step if you prefer. Quarter arc blocks are used to make many of the base blocks – then the fun begins by building in the extras that are individually placed from block to block.

Students can go to my web and choose a different design, I am fine with that. I will provide one free handout for this class that. Otherwise if they want to use a pattern, they are for sale on my website. The first 3 are from patterns and the remaining are improv.
