June Meeting – Eye Candy Quilts
June 17 @ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
From Nebraska, Mother/Daughter team of Brenda and Anneliese from Eye Candy Quilts will be presenting and sharing their quilts.
On Thursday, June 18, they will be teaching two half-day workshops. Each half-day class is $30. Members may take both classes for $50. Island Chain, June 18, 9-12 pm and Weftovers, June 18, 1-4 pm.
One calm day in Southeastern Nebraska, the phrase, “I have an idea!” was uttered. Normally this leads to some explosion in quilty creativity, but this particular time it was more than that: it was the idea that a dynamic mother-daughter duo should go into the quilting business together.

Anneliese:
When I was three, I stayed in my mom’s sewing room sewing buttons onto leftover fabric. Then when I got older, I wanted to be a fashion designer. I even went to college to learn how to be one. But that was dull. Quilts are much more exciting.
Brenda:
I’ve lived all over the United States and in Western Europe. My love of history grew with each move and each new place to explore. It fascinated me how people lived and the clothing from different periods. I learned how people crafted and created with textiles as part of their everyday life; everyday life included quilting for them, as it does now for me.
