Welcome
Willamette Valley Quilters (WVQ) was launched in September 2021. Our guild is located in Dayton, in the heart of Willamette Valley, easily accessible to quilters throughout Yamhill County and surrounding areas.
We were inspired to create WVQ as a space to support all quilting possibilities– modern, traditional, art, improv and handwork. Through educational programs, community service and social opportunities, WVQ provides a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages fellowship among its members, surrounding guilds and the community.
Please join us at our WVQ meetings on the 3rd Wednesdays at 10 am, with social time starting at 9:30. We will meet at the comfortable and spacious Dayton First Baptist Church, 300 Flower Lane.
September Meeting – Jean Lasswell

Jean has been quilting since the early eighties. Like many, she began making baby quilts but soon followed a path to contemporary pictorial quilts. Her main focus is small quilts, often with a personal meaning. After moving to Oregon twenty-one years ago, she became a founding member of Westside Quilters Guild. She is currently managing TArts, the guild’s art quilting group. In addition, Jean has a small vintage business, and she enjoys spending time with her husband, her sister, and her two cats.
2026 Raffle Quilt
The 2026 WVQ Raffle Quilt was raffled at the July WVQ Guild meeting. It was won by our own Jeanette Gorthy! Overall, the Guild collected $330 in ticket sales. Thanks to all the members who contributed blocks for the quilts, purchased tickets, and special thanks to Sue Capell for piecing the blocks together and her spectacular custom quilting.
